Geri Halliwell-Horner makes epic faux pas in candid message to Mel B

Geri Halliwell-Horner’s special birthday message for fellow Spice Girl Mel B went viral on Wednesday, after the 51-year-old made a surprising faux pas that left fans angry.

The flame-haired singer, 51, took to her Instagram account with a cute series of photos alongside former Scary Spice. The featured image showed the couple during their Spice Girls days, the second alongside former Baby Spice, Emma Bunton, and the third, an updated photo of them at a glamorous event.

Although Geri’s intentions were well-meaning, the caption – which has since been edited – read: “I sent Pippa images to adjust where necessary. Happy birthday @officialmelb! Hope you have an amazing day .” Pippa, referring to Geri’s PR.

The error was corrected 30 minutes later, giving fans plenty of time to hit the comments section with their thoughts.

“Friendship never ends…unless Pippa gets involved,” one fan wrote. A second added: “Sending lots of love to Pippa on the day, she could use a glass of wine or two.”

Meanwhile, tributes to Mel B continued to pour in from her fellow Spice Girl bandmates.

Victoria Beckham shared her Instagram Stories with a message for her former bandmate.

“Happy birthday @melb!!! Kisses @gerihalliwellhorner @emmabunton @melaniecmusic xx.”

The words were written alongside a photo of the former girl group on stage dressed in their iconic Spice Girl costumes.

Mel C also shared a sweet tribute to her friend, writing: “Go Scary, it’s your birthday! Happy birthday @officialmelb Melanie Brown MBE, we’ve shared so many amazing memories, I hope it doesn’t take too much a long time before making others!

“So proud of you and all the amazing work you do, I love you to pieces #friendshipneverends,” the words were written alongside a series of snaps of the Spice Girls, most of which showed Mel in her famous leopard print jumpsuit.
