Ladurée recently unveiled a new dining space in Covent Garden London, designed to be a blend of French haute cuisine and the elegance of a Versailles-inspired setting. Situated above the brand’s flagship store, this addition aims to offer customers an immersive experience combining the charm of Paris with a touch of London’s iconic architecture.

This latest venture from iconic French pastry brand Ladurée, best known for its macarons and refined style, features a design that takes heavy inspiration from the opulence of Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors and classic English mansions, while still retaining a view of the bustling Covent Garden below.

The menu, developed by Chef Julian Alvarez, interweaves British and French culinary traditions, offering afternoon tea including sandwiches, freshly baked scones, miniature Laisir Ispahan pastries and Ladurée’s signature macarons, accompanied by a glass of vintage champagne and a selection of teas. Evening service continues the Franco-British theme with dishes such as Flight to the Wind, Scallops with Jerusalem artichokeand a special Beef wellington filet for two.

Mélanie Carron, CEO of the Maison Ladurée Group, expressed her pride in this new space, commenting: “Throughout this transformative journey, we have remained committed to preserving the intrinsic details and craftsmanship of the original building, accented by beautiful textiles and French details that define our brand of heritage and art of living. She added: “The menu marks an exciting new step for Ladurée in foraying into London’s vibrant culinary scene, and we hope to join the ranks of the famous French restaurants that London welcomes with open arms.” »

The room, a hidden gem designed to accommodate 36 people, is open Monday to Sunday. It is also available for private events, providing a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and establishing itself as an oasis of luxury.
