Inside Out 2 gets a crazy inspiration claim from Uncut Gems

The Safdie brothers’ uncut gems inspired Pixar’s Inside Out 2.

In an interview with Animation Magazine, Adam Habib cited the cinematography of Uncut Gems as a big influence on Inside Out 2. Anxiety (Maya Hawke) is introduced into the film, making the Safdie Brothers film the inspiration perfect.

“The fragile cinematography of the Safdie Brothers film inspired their technique,” ​​we read in the feature film. “The Inside Out 2 animation team built static sets during production, then placed the digital characters inside those sets. Next, they installed a virtual camera that could be used as a camera for a live-action film inside the sets.

“Once that was done, they would move the virtual camera around the sets they had created to try new angles and new shot setups to see what would work best for the film,” he continues.

Uncut Gems is a film directed by the Safdie Brothers and stars Adam Sandler as Howard Ratner. Howard is a chronic gambler in New York’s Diamond District. To repay his debts, he must recover a valuable gemstone. At the same time, the loan sharks are breathing down his neck.

Besides Sandler, Julia Fox, Idina Menzel and Kevin Garnett also star in the film.
