Take your knitting out of the closet – June 8

Join your neighbors and knit or crochet together on World Knitting Day in public.

This outdoor event will take place on the lawn of the Morse Institute Library, 14 E. Central St., on Saturday, June 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your own chair and do some knitting/crocheting. In case of rain the group will bring their knitting needles inside the library.

Sponsored by Friends of the Library

World Public Knitting Day was launched in 2005 by Danielle Landes. Knitting/crocheting is such a solitary act that it’s easy to knit/crochet alone somewhere and immerse yourself in your work without thinking about all the other sewers. Neighbors could go their whole lives never knowing that each other knits/crochets. It’s a specific day to get out of the house and go to a local event (with your knitting/crocheting in tow) just for you and people like you.
