Baptist & Wolfson Oakleaf emergency room reopens after car with ‘suspicious material’ causes closure – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Updated at 2:05 p.m.: The Baptist & Wolfson Oakleaf emergency room has reopened.

Original: Baptist Health confirmed to Action News Jax that its Oakleaf emergency room is temporarily closed due to a law enforcement investigation.

This is located near Argyle Forest Boulevard and the First Coast Expressway.

Police are investigating “a vehicle containing suspicious material in the parking lot,” Baptist said in a statement.

Patients who need emergency care are encouraged to call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Action News Jax has contacted the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for more information about the investigation.

“Law enforcement is investigating a vehicle containing suspicious material in the parking lot. As an abundance of caution, The Baptist & Wolfson Oak Leaf Emergency room will be temporarily closed during this period. For patients requiring emergency care, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Safety is our #1 priority.

“We will provide an update when the emergency room reopens.”
