Young Arlington readers can meet Nats notables this weekend and win tickets to games later this summer through the library’s free programs.

Catcher Riley Adams and pitching strategist (and former reliever) Sean Doolittle will sign autographs for the children Saturday morning after reading a story at the Arlington Central Library. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the event lasts until 11 a.m.

“Join us in celebrating summer reading and the Washington Nationals!” ” says an Arlington Public Library web page. “Come on Nats!”

The library system is also offering two free vouchers to select national games for readers of all ages who complete 21 days of reading this summer. The Summer Reading Challenge started earlier this week and will continue until September 1st.

“You cannot read too much or too little on any given day, and you are not required to read for 21 consecutive days,” the library system said.

Participants must complete a reading log and can backdate their reading activity. Readers who complete the challenge also receive a free book or book coupon during any Friends of the Arlington Public Library book sale.

There’s also a bonus “super reader” challenge, offering a free stuffed animal or free round of mini golf at Upton Hill Regional Park to participants who read for an additional 21 days this summer.
