How did the rain affect fans at the Canadian Grand Prix?

Rain began to fall after qualifying, and as Kravitz presented his post-session report under an umbrella, he revealed the extent of the difficulties faced by fans trying to attend Friday’s practice sessions .

“So far, the rain has affected attendance and fan organization,” Kravitz explained.

“There was a very unfortunate situation during practice on Friday where there seemed to be some sort of breakdown in communication between the organizers, local Montreal police and transportation.

“In fact, Montreal metro employees were wrongly informing fans that Friday’s race had been canceled and would not let them take the metro line to the station.”

Fans faced downpours during Friday’s practice

This is why some fans – although in limited numbers – were unable to attend Friday’s training after being misinformed.

“I investigated,” Kravitz continued. “The police said it wasn’t his fault. They supported the organization.

“The organization said they didn’t tell any of the fans that the event was canceled, so it was a very unfortunate moment, but I know the organization wants to apologize to all the fans who were affected.

“Formula 1 says there were only a small number of fans who were affected, who didn’t show up, who had valid tickets, but most of them eventually did. ”
