PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Eagle Mountain Casino is offering attendees of George Lopez’s recent show a full refund and more to apologize for the comedian leaving 30 minutes early during his Friday night set.

Staff at Eagle Mountain Casino said Lopez had “let her fans down” following the show’s unexpected ending.

“Once Lopez headed to his dressing room, neither he nor his team offered any apologies to the casino staff or guests, nor any explanation as to why Mr. Lopez did not want to continue and left 15 minutes later and was returned to Porterville Airport by Eagle Transportation from Mountain Casino,” the casino said in a statement Sunday.

In a social media post addressing the incident, the casino’s statement suggested that Lopez’s departure was due to hecklers, adding that his team had the ability to escort anyone.

In a statement provided to TMZ, George Lopez’s team responded by saying the casino failed to provide a good experience for both the artist and fans, describing the audience as overserved and unruly, and casino staff unable to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for the performer. artist and guests.

“George’s personal security team worked with site security staff to maintain order, provide security and remove disruptive individuals. Unfortunately, the casino’s security team was not adequate to accomplish this task. George does not have to perform in a dangerous environment. He regrets that those who came to see the show were not able to do so. »

Following Lopez’s response, Eagle Mountain Casino disputed these claims.

“It was the job of Lopez’s private security team to notify casino security if she wanted to escort anyone, which never happened. At the casino’s discretion, no guests were unruly or provided an unsafe environment,” Eagle Mountain added.

Officials say his walkout came as a shock given that the two comedians who opened before him did not highlight any concerns or issues.

“Although we have seen guests screaming, we are seeing recordings of them saying we love you, can we buy you a drink, etc.,” Eagle Mountain Casino Assistant General Manager Tiffani Sahagun said.

Eagle Mountain says the casino will offer all attendees both a full refund of their tickets – as well as free tickets of equal or lesser value to any future 2024 shows at the casino.

As part of their statement, casino staff say they did their best throughout their experience with the comedian to accommodate him from canceling a show in April due to a medical emergency to escorting him to the airport Friday evening.

“Now, for the second time, the comedian is forcing the casino to welcome back its customers by refunding show tickets and going above and beyond to ensure customers know the casino values his business and wants “Only provide a positive experience during one’s visit,” Eagle said Mountain Casino staff.

Eagle Mountain Casino says participants can complete a refund request through their website.
