AS Monaco consider Montpellier’s Khalil Fayad as potential replacement for Maghnes Akliouche

According to The Team, AS Monaco is considering Khalil Fayad (20) from Montpellier HSC as a potential replacement for Maghnes Akliouche.

Academy product Akliouche has had a breakthrough season at Monaco, helping the Principality club return to the UEFA Champions League. However, the French U21 international’s performances have also sparked interest. Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City have notably expressed their interest in the young playmaker.

The Monegasques are determined to keep Akliouche for another season, while the player himself shows no signs of wanting to move. However, in the event of departure, Fayad is considered a potential replacement. The Montpellier playmaker (three goals in 47 Ligue 1 matches) corresponds to the profile that Monaco would be looking for.

Fayad is also attracting interest from the Bundesliga. VfB Stuttgart had previously been cited as an interested party, while Eintracht Frankfurt have since joined the race. The France U20 international would cost less than 10 million euros, according to The Team.
