Potter had responded to fans on social media in the hours before his death, promising to bring them new videos about the comics they loved.

“For those wondering, the Mangastorian video will be released tomorrow. We’re just behind in editing. If we can do it, One piece will fall, otherwise this will be my take on My Hero (which is complete, I just haven’t started it),” Potter wrote on X on Saturday. He was referring to One piece, a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda.

Just minutes before this update, Potter responded to a fan request asking him to recreate the new game. Loss #1. The Marvel comic follows Doctor Doom as he must try to stop the villainous Galactus from bringing about the death of the Marvel Universe.

“Hi Benny. Please do Doom #1. Thanks!” asked @911justice, to which Potter replied: “I didn’t even know it existed, I’ll read it tomorrow morning to see what what I think.”

Potter’s wife, Nathalie Potter, announced his death in a written statement on her main YouTube channel on Monday.

“Two days ago, on June 8, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident. To many of you, he was a comics artist, telling stories in many different mediums. To those close to him, he was one of the best and most supportive people anyone could ask for,” she began.

Nathalie described how “Ben was loving and genuine” and “someone who listened and took time for those close to him.”

“He did his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he reassured his loved ones whenever they needed it. He was my world and I need time to be with my friends and family,” she wrote.

The widow explained that she needed privacy to grieve, but also wanted to preserve “everything he built and I have no plans beyond that.”

“His channel has been one of his greatest achievements, and while we all need time to mourn him, I know he wouldn’t want it to end like this,” Nathalie wrote.

“Ben has spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. It’s because of his love of exciting stories and well-written characters that he started on YouTube. The team and I want Let this continue.”

She concluded: “To honor him by continuing to tell great stories written by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our own superhero alive. We supported each other in everything we wanted to do and I I’m not going to stop now.”
