“I had nothing to do with it” – Stonebwoy reacts to Wale’s UG performance being canceled

Entertainer of the year for the 25th TGMA, Stonebwoy has denied any involvement in the cancellation of Shatta Wale’s performance at the Wave Africa Artiste Night at the Legon campus this weekend.

Both artists were scheduled to perform at the University of Ghana campus on June 8, Stonebwoy was scheduled to perform at the Limann Hall Karaoke Night while Shatta Wale was scheduled to perform at the JT Nelson Yankah Hall Artist Night.

However, hours before the JT Nelson Yankah Hall concert, show organizers received an “order from above” banning Shatta Wale from performing at the artists’ night.

On the other hand, Stonebwoy was able to continue his performance without any interruption.

Due to the rivalry between the two artists, speculation and rumors were rife that Stonebwoy had “used his connections with prominent personalities and authorities” to prevent Shatta Wale from performing at the artists’ night.

However, speaking on the subject since its emergence, Stonebwoy in an interview on Asaase Radio refuted speculation regarding his involvement in the matter.

He said “it’s ridiculous” that some people think he orchestrated what happened.

The eight-time Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year stressed that “even if he had such powers, he cannot abuse them in this way”.

“I had absolutely nothing to do with it. So I’m surprised where these accusations are coming from,” Stonebwoy said during his June 12 interview.
