NACD North Texas Announces New Chapter Officers and Board Members for 2024-2025

DALLAS, June 12, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The NACD North Texas Chapter, an advocate for the trustee profession, today announced the election of new officers and board members for 2024-2025, effective July 1 2024.

New officers

Renee Arrington, NACD.DC, has been elected president of the NACD North Texas Chapter Board of Directors. Arrington is President and Chief Operating Officer of Pearson Partners International, a nationally ranked recruiting firm by Forbes review. Arrington serves on the board of directors of Pearson Partners and is vice chairman of the board of directors for the Americas of IIC Partners, a top 10 global executive search network of which Pearson Partners is a member. In 2018, Arrington was recognized by the Association of Executive Search & Leadership Consultants, receiving the Community Engagement Award. She was also recognized in 2018 as a C-Suite Award winner by the Fort Worth Business Press. In 2021, she was named one of the most powerful business leaders in North Texas by D CEO and honored with the HMG Strategy Global Leadership Institute Award.

Tom Leppert will serve as vice chairman of the board of directors. Leppert has served on a wide range of corporate boards on three continents and currently serves on the boards of Austin Industries, Fluor Corporation, Dallas Theological Seminary and the NACD North Texas Chapter. He is a renowned speaker and appears regularly in the media. Leppert served as a White House Fellow in 1984, serving in both the White House Office of Policy Development and the Treasury Department. Todd Murray will continue to serve as secretary. A partner at Foley & Lardner LLP, he is vice chair of the firm’s securities enforcement and litigation practice. Murray focuses his practice on securities litigation, fiduciary duties of directors and officers and corporate governance litigation, litigation involving complex accounting, accounting fraud, financial and related matters to energy.

Bill Buechele will continue to serve as treasurer. Buechele retired from Deloitte & Touche where he led North Texas Deloitte’s Business Growth Services group, overseeing assurance, tax and consulting services. Buechele previously held leadership positions in the NACD North Texas chapter prior to his selection as treasurer.

New board members

New board members include Matthew Bob, NACD.DC, Ron Chu, NADC.DC, Bets Lillo, NACD.DC and Julie Silcock.

Matthew Bob is president and owner of MB Exploration LLC. Bob is an independent director of APA Corp. (Apache) and the former non-executive chairman of Callon Petroleum. He previously served as president of Eagle Oil and Gas Co., an independent director of Southcross Energy LLC and co-general partner of One Map Mineral Partners LLC. Bob has received NACD.DC certification, is a registered professional geoscientist in three states, and his professional affiliations include the National Association of Corporate Administrators, the American Association of Geologists, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, and the Dallas Petroleum Club Wildcatter.

Ron Chu is the former Group Vice President and Head of Global Internal Controls at Toyota Motor Corporation. Mr. Chu also served as Group Vice President and Head of Accounting and Finance for Toyota Financial Services. He was recently named chairman of the audit committee of the board of directors of Toyota Motor Credit Corporation, the largest automobile financing company in the United States. Chu previously served on the Nominating and Governance Committee of the APAICS Board of Directors, which promotes young Asian American professionals running for public office. Chu raised $1 million in funding and helped the CEO generate record revenue during the COVID pandemic. Mr. Chu is an active CPA licensed in the State of California and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors.

Bets Lillo serves on the River Logic Board of Directors, two advisory boards, three non-profit boards and is an Executive in Residence at Texas Christian University in the areas of Information Systems and Supply Chain. ‘supply. She currently serves on the Technology Oversight, Compensation and Nominating/Governance committees. Julie Silcock, partner at CDX Advisors, a technology investment bank, is a certified financial expert with experience as a director on six boards (five public companies and one private company), including Moneygram, Overseas Shipholding Group , Q4, MESA Airlines, GreenHunter Resources and JC Skincare. She has over 35 years of M&A and capital markets experience with numerous private and public companies as well as private equity sponsors. Prior to CDX Advisors, Silcock co-led Houlihan Lokey’s southwest investment banking practice, founded and led Citigroup’s southwest investment banking practice, served as managing director of investment at DLJ and managing director of Bear Stearns. She is also a board member of the US Ski and Snowboard Assn, which supports our Winter Olympic athletes, as well as the board of directors of Goodwill Industries – North Texas Chapter.
