Tiffaney Faith Cockrell, 21, was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license on June 8.th. Officers observed Cockrell speeding and conducted a traffic stop. During the check-up, she denied drinking anything and showed signs of impairment. The officers asked her to take sobriety tests, to which she agreed and the results were poor. Under Miranda, she admitted to taking medication two days ago and to drinking in recent days. After being informed of her implied consent, she agreed to provide a blood sample. During a subsequent search, officers found a white powdery substance in her purse, which Cockrell said she believed to be cocaine because her friend had her purse. However, before the search, under Miranda, Cockrell admitted that the purse belonged to her. She was later arrested for this incident.
