Inter ready to sacrifice Valentin Carboni to sign Albert Gudmundsson

Inter Milan are ready to sell attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni this summer if it allows them to replace Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson.

This is what today’s print edition of the Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reveals, via FCInterNews. The newspaper reports that Carboni is on the radar of Fiorentina, Atalanta and Premier League sides.

Carboni appears to be a player who could leave Inter this summer.

The Nerazzurri have already rejected offers for the 19-year-old Argentina international – who is part of the Albiceleste squad for this summer’s Copa America.

Fiorentina had made an offer worth 20 millions. Inter refused.

However, the Nerazzurri are reportedly considering offers this summer. They would, however, expect a very significant payday for Carboni.

Inter would like at least 30 million to sell Carboni.

La Gazzetta reports that Fiorentina are reportedly considering reviving their interest in the Argentine. He is a target for new Viola coach Raffaele Palladino, who worked with the teenager at Monza.

In the meantime, Atalanta also emerged as contenders for Carboni.

And the Gazzetta also reports that the Premier League are interested in signing the 19-year-old.

Inter could sell Valentin Carboni to fund Albert Gudmundsson deal

In the past, Inter have prioritized keeping Carboni.

Although the Argentine is not yet ready to be part of first-team plans, he is a player that Inter view as one of the players of the future.

The reason the Nerazzurri are now willing to sell Carboni, according to Gazzetta, is because they want to bring in money to sign Gudmundsson from Genoa.

Inter consider the signing of Gudmundsson an important deal for next season.

The Icelander has a different profile than any other striker currently in the Inter squad. And the Nerazzurri also view his versatility and lack of fitness issues as important traits.

However, notes la Gazzetta, there is a potential problem in a deal for Gudmundsson.

The 26-year-old is currently under investigation for sexual assault in his home country of Iceland. Given he faces imprisonment, this could certainly torpedo a move to Inter.
