CW series canceled after 3 seasons leaves series creator devastated

In addition to disappointed fans, it appears the creator of a show on The CW is “devastated” to see his series canceled. The cancellation comes a month before the premiere of the show’s third season, which is expected to result in a season with a lower budget than its predecessors.

This is never an exciting announcement, as Deadline notes. At the time of writing, there is now only one “Surviving scripted series from the pre-Nexstar CW.” Unfortunately, it appears that this particular series joins a number of other cancellations made by the network.

As shared by series creator Nkechi Okoro Carroll, who released a statement to explain how “devastated” she talks about current events:

We made this show for the culture and thank our loyal audiences and fans for taking this journey with us. We made this show so that our community, our children (and their dreams), could be seen and celebrated every week and we are proud to say that we have. accomplished this mission… Especially with this exciting final season that we can’t wait to show you all. So it is with a heavy but proud heart that I send a final thank you to our favorite Bringston Lions!

Interestingly, the only pre-Nexstar CW scripted series that will continue for another season is none other than All Americanthe series which Back home from. Unfortunately, it seems that All American: Homecoming It was simply too difficult economically and logistically for the studios involved to continue.

The following statement regarding the cancellation was released by the network:

Television for their hard work and dedication to telling these important stories for three incredible seasons,” » said the network. “The upcoming final season is the best yet and we can’t wait to share it with fans starting Monday, July 8.”
