“Buy the ticket, take the ride”

“Buy the ticket, take the ride”

Goose made headlines again today with another cryptic dispatch via social media. At 1 p.m. ET, the highly acclaimed indie groove band posted to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with a short looping video: A neon sign flickers, illuminating the back corner of a sparsely decorated restaurant, with key details lighting up like a bottle of Cholula and a portrait of Emiliano Zapata. The sign itself reads “Buy the ticket, take the ride”, famous words written by Hunter S. Thompson in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Goose’s post links to a website, buythetickettaketheride.live, which gives a little more color on the band’s new move with a date and time – Baja, Mexico, May 8-10, 2025. Logically, this obscure message appears to hint at a new holiday concert from the band, likely in the vein of such high-profile jam escapades as Phish’s Riviera Maya, The String Cheese Incident’s The Mexico Incident, Gov’t Mule’s Island Exodus and many others . For more details as they arrive, fans should sign up to receive email and text updates through the site.

This cryptic announcement recalls Goose’s abstract, psychedelic videos from January, which ultimately turned out to be samples of Ted Bands 2024, the band’s first album with new drummer Cotter Ellis. Widely known for its fun and intriguing fan service, similarly exemplified during its extensive run at the Capitol Theater, this teasing social media move takes the band’s passion for exciting their community to new heights.

Goose will take the stage tomorrow, June 14, to headline Swanzey, NH’s Northlands Music & Arts Festival. For more information on the band’s summer tour plans, visit goosetheband.com/tour.
