Michelin announces eight more New York restaurants in the running for the 2024 awards

The Michelin Guide has announced the latest update to its New York dining guide, which includes eight new restaurants for June. That, combined with the 10 in April, represents 18 additions to the nearly 400 restaurants that could be in the running for a Michelin star or Bib Gourmand in the fall.

The anonymous panel added Tolo by Ron Yan of Parcelle, a place that often pairs stunning wines with Chinese dishes. As expected, Côte’s brother and home of the caviar-topped chicken nugget, Coqodaq, is also a choice. Salil Mehta’s South Indian star Kanyakumari is a June recommendation, as is Cafe Carmellini, chef Andrew Carmellini’s greatest hits album. Fidel Caballero’s groundbreaking Mexican restaurant, Corima, joins, along with Four Twenty Five, Midtown’s temple to Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s powerhouse dining. Foxface Natural, a critic favorite (aside from ours), makes the list, along with the only location outside of Manhattan, Long Island City’s Vert Frais, a destination for late-night fans of Kanoyama’s midnight ramen by Sanshiro.

Keeping track of Michelin-recommended restaurants allows interested people to take a look at where inspectors dine, although these endorsements do not guarantee a Bib Gourmand or a Michelin star. The publication says of these additions: “If New York is known for anything, it’s its diversity. » Michelin calls the first set of announcements in April “delicious and friendly”.

Michelin has not yet announced a date for the awards or for the more affordable Bib Gourmands. Last year, the New York awards were grouped with those in Washington, D.C. and Chicago and presented in November. Eater requested more information.
