NEET-UG row: Congress asks why PM remains silent, accuses Modi govt of ‘covering up NEET scam’

Questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence amid the ongoing controversy over NEET-UG exam results, the Congress on Friday claimed that “NEET scam is Vyapam 2.0”.

The party said only a forensic investigation supervised by the Supreme Court can guarantee the future of thousands of young students.

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that the Modi government started “covering up the NEET scam” through Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the National Testing Agency (NTA).

What Kharge said in a post on X

– If the diary was not leaked in NEET, then why were 13 accused arrested in Bihar due to the diary leak?

– Did the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of the Patna Police not reveal the payment of 30 lakh- 50 lakh to the education mafia and organized gangs involved in racketeering in exchange for papers?

– Has the NEET-UG cheating racket not been busted in Godhra, Gujarat? Three people are involved: a person who runs a coaching center, a teacher and another. According to the Gujarat Police, more than 12 crore transactions were revealed between the accused.

“If according to the Modi government no diaries were leaked in NEET, then why were these arrests made,” Kharge asked in a post on X.

“What conclusion to draw from this? Did the Modi government try to mislead the people of the country earlier or now? The Modi government has crushed the aspirations of 24 lakh youth,” Kharge added.

Kharge alleged that it appears that a game of pardons, paper leaks and rigging was played to deprive deserving students of government admission at concessional rates.

Addressing a press conference on the issue at the AICC headquarters, Congress media and publicity department head Pawan Khera asserted that “NEET scam is Vyapam 2.0”.

“PM Modi cannot always remain a mute spectator. Why is he remaining silent when the future of 24 million youth is at stake?” He asked.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra hit

“As soon as the new BJP government was sworn in, it again started attacking the dreams of the youth. The Education Minister’s arrogant response on irregularities in NEET exam results completely ignores the cries of 24 lakh people. students and their parents,” Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said in a Hindi message on X.

What did Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan say?

  • I want to assure students that all their concerns will be addressed fairly and fairly. No student will be disadvantaged and no child’s career will be threatened.

The NEET counseling process will soon be underway and it is of utmost importance to move in this direction without any confusion.
