“Unfortunately, everything must end”

“It’s been quite an adventure!” would seem to be the consensus of Magnum PI cast and writers weigh in on second cancellation of island drama, by NBC.

As reported Friday evening, NBC — which mobilized a year ago to save Magnum after its run on CBS was discontinued after four seasons – opted not to order additional episodes beyond the 10-episode second half of Season 5 (premiere date TBD), given that options distribution expires on June 30 and the Hollywood writers’ strike does not end. is in sight.

THE Magnum The writing team as a whole also shared a message with fans, saying that while it’s been “a great series,” “sadly, everything must end”:

Season 5A of Magnumbroadcast on Sunday after Data line reruns, averaging just under 5 million total weekly viewers and a 0.4 demo rating (with Live+7 playback) – down sharply from season 4 on CBS (7.3 mil/0 ,7), who was very comfortably installed in a hammock on Friday evening between CRUSH and the well guarded Blue blood.

Of the 11 television series broadcast by NBC during the last television season, Magnum ranked eighth in total audience (only withdrawals La Brea, Quantum leap and the last season of The blacklist), and attached The blacklist for the end of the demo.
