Assault/probation violation

On June 13 at 9:11 a.m., police were called to a disturbance in the 500 block of Braecrest Drive. A woman reported that her boyfriend assaulted her by punching her in the eye. The 25-year-old man was determined to have an outstanding arrest warrant in Winnipeg for a probation violation. He was arrested, then released, and his court appearance will take place on July 29, 2024 (Brandon) and August 6, 2024 (Winnipeg).

Arrest warrant

On June 12 at 11:30 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 1200 block of College Avenue where they arrested a 25-year-old man on an outstanding warrant in Portage The Prairie. He was held overnight in court on June 14, 2024.

Domestic assault

On June 12, police were called to a disturbance in the 1100 block of 18th Street. CCTV showed a 34-year-old man assaulted a woman before police arrived. During the altercation, the woman suffered a seizure. The woman was transported to Brandon Hospital and the man was arrested and later released. ​​The hearing date is set for July 29, 2024.

Impaired driver

On June 12 at 3:55 p.m., police were informed of the presence of a drunk driver at a business next to Highway No. 1. A witness told police the impaired driver entered the building, causing minor damage. The driver stumbled into the establishment smelling of alcohol and became argumentative when asked to prepay for his fuel. The suspect left before police arrived. When police located the suspect, he attempted to flee at high speed, but found himself stuck at a red light between vehicles. A 33-year-old man, who was intoxicated, was arrested and remanded in custody to stand trial in court on June 14, 2024.

Arrest warrant

On June 12 at 8:13 p.m., police were called to a disturbance in the 400 block of 9th Street. Two men were found to be arguing consensually. A 32-year-old man involved in the altercation was the subject of outstanding arrest warrants for uttering threats and failing to appear in court. The man was arrested and presented to court on June 14, 2024.

Breach of peace

On June 14, at 3:27 a.m., police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 500 block of Braecrest Drive. Two drunk men were found fighting. A 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were arrested and detained overnight to prevent further unrest. They will be released in the morning.

Possession and use of stolen credit cards

On June 13, police conducted a pedestrian stop on a 26-year-old man in the 3400 block of Victoria. They had identified him as a suspect for a report of wallet theft on June 7, 2024. During the check, it was confirmed that he was in possession of several prepaid Visa cards as well as stolen cards. He is subject to the condition of not possessing any financial or identification document in a name other than his own. He was arrested and presented to court on June 14, 2024.
