CHICAGO — The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a large reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of three people they say robbed a carrier at gunpoint earlier this week.

A news release from the agency offered a reward of up to $150,000 in connection with Tuesday’s robbery near North Pine and West Race avenues in the Austin neighborhood. The three robbers ran north on Pine Avenue after the 3:30 p.m. attack, the release said.

A brief video accompanying the post shows what appears to be three youths running around a fenced area. At least two of them can be seen with packages.

The robbers were described as three black men between the ages of 18 and 20. All wore black pants and a black hoodie. One of the hoodies had a large gold emblem on the back.

“The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous,” the USPS statement said.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact USPS at 877-876-2455. The file number is 4325936.
