Netizens troll Pakistan as Florida washout seals their group stage elimination from T20 WC 2024

As Pakistan’s chances of reaching the Super 8s were shattered after the USA-Ireland match failed in Florida on Friday, netizens trolled their fans hoping that a miracle would save them. The wiped out competition means Pakistan are out of the competition and co-hosts USA have progressed to the Super 8 stage alongside India from Group A.

Pakistan’s chances seemed doomed after their opening match itself, when they lost to the United States. With India having an overwhelming record against them in T20 World Cups, they had little chance. While the Men in Green delivered a sensational bowling performance to hold their arch rivals to 119 in 19 overs. However, Babar Azam’s men ultimately lost by 6 points despite being in a strong position.

Pakistan beat Canada quite convincingly for their first win of the tournament, but that didn’t do much good to their net run rate and were expected to win their final match based on other results. The ground staff did their best on Friday until the rain returned and dashed the hopes of Pakistan fans.
