Limestone County deputies arrest man for meth, marijuana found during traffic stop

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Authorities say a Huntsville man was arrested and charged following a traffic stop south of the Elkmont exit on Interstate 65.

On June 6, 2024, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy and his partner could smell marijuana in Stanley Dwayne Billions Jr.’s truck while conducting a traffic stop along I- 65.

Deputies learned Billions had an active warrant in Limestone County.

Authorities say Billions refused to get out of his truck and resisted arrest. He was then handcuffed. While searching his truck, police say they found 352 grams of methamphetamine and 14 ounces of marijuana.

Billions was charged with drug trafficking, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana in the first degree and an arrest warrant under an assumed name.

He is being held at the Limestone County Jail and his bond is set at $106,000.
