Alive and Well is a unique sanctuary for wellness Peak Dallas

Alive and Well is a unique sanctuary for wellness Peak Dallas

“IIf we’re going to do something, we’re going to do it in the most cutting-edge, efficient, bioavailable way possible,” shares Liz Swail as she guides us through Alive and Well, a holistic wellness center that has just opened its doors. the bustling Katy Trail terminal. The 8,500 square foot space on the second floor is a maze of luxurious modern aesthetics and clean, calming lines, with ultra-high-end amenities around every corner. From the red light bed to the hyperbaric chamber, everything is “the Ferrari of” something. Billed as “a complete wellness ecosystem,” Alive and Well, which also includes a compounding pharmacy, may be Dallas’ most comprehensive functional medicine destination.

It took a long time to arrive. Liz Swail and her husband Michael co-founded Alive and Well in the Texas Hill Country in 2019. Michael’s father is the founder of Peoples Rx, a pioneering independent pharmacy located around Austin. Michael first felt called to join the family business after witnessing widespread unhappiness during his career on Wall Street. Today, Alive and Well is its own take on the holistic healthcare that Peoples Rx helped bring to Texas. This spring, they opened a more boutique version of the concept in Boulder, Colorado, but the Dallas Alive and Well, which has been in the works for over a year and finally opened on May 20, 2024, is the largest in this day. .

Let’s break it down.

The frequency dome

There are many treatment rooms and areas at Alive and Well Dallas, but the facet that will attract the most attention is the Frequency Dome. The large rounded room will host vibroacoustic therapy, a treatment that can help with arthritis, fibromyalgia and anxiety. The space is lined with luxury Walden meditation mat for guided breathing classes and inHarmony meditation cushions to vibrate solo with headphones.

It’s a room ripe for psychedelic experiences. “We’re getting a projector that will hopefully feel like a little version of The Sphere in Las Vegas,” adds Liz.

The Compounding Pharmacy and Functional Medicine Clinic

Much like Peoples RX in Austin, Alive and Well can prepare medications with alternative ingredients for patients with allergies or special needs, while working closely with healthcare providers to ensure their results are as safe and effective as possible.

The new Dallas pharmacy also specializes in hormone replacement therapies and pediatric care, which customers can learn more about during a deep dive with a Functional Medicine Clinic provider. Alive and Well offers testing for thyroid, food sensitivities, microbiomes, mycotoxins and more to help proactively fight disease.

“We do every test you can think of for wellness and functional medicine,” notes Liz.

Room IV

Although the frequency dome may attract attention, the IV treatment room could easily become the most popular spot in Alive and Well. (With one of the strongest arguments for membership.) Plush recliners face a wall of glass overlooking the Katy Trail, and visitors can benefit from a variety of IV therapies to target the fatigue or inflammation, optimize gut health or facilitate recovery. A menu of peptide-rich quick shots (ranging from $35 to $45) includes “Hair + Skin + Nails” and “Immunity & Mood.” IV drips start at around $200 for the “Classic” concoction and can go up to $1,000 for the “Million Dollar Drip,” which contains a custom blend of vitamins and minerals Alive and Well compares to Fountain of Youth.

Stop by Happy Hour (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) on Tuesdays and Thursdays for half-price vitamin shots and 30% off peptides. It’s a unique pleasure to people watch the Katy Trail while you lie back and recharge.

The aesthetic room

Alive and Well’s Dallas outpost differs from the Austin original by adding cosmetic treatments like lasers, Botox and fillers. (The city is one of the country’s largest markets for injectable products.) Other aesthetic treatments include Ionix medical-grade microcurrent facials, DermaShape lymphatic therapy, and CryoStar face and body sculpting sessions.

More wellness treatments at Alive and Well

Endless doors in the lobbies of Alive and Well reveal different dedicated treatment spaces. There’s a room for acupuncture, massage, hyperbaric oxygen chambers (Sechrist 3600H, no less), red light therapy, and colon hydrotherapy. In the luxurious changing rooms for men and women, you can indulge in the sauna before diving into the hot and cold baths.

With so many resources available, it can be difficult to know where to start. After some study, it seems that the best way to dip your toes into Alive and Well’s vast pool of healing modalities is the “Dallas Day Pass.” The $59 pass offers access to the sauna and hot/cold bath in the locker room, the tranquility lounge and breathing in the Frequency Dome. When you’re done, you can check out a Pilates or yoga class at O2 Dallas, and soon you can grab a bite to eat at chef Bruno Davaillon’s PasSage or a glass of wine at Rose Café.
