Vehicle crashes into house after vehicle runs stop sign

HICKSVILLE, Ohio (WANE) — A vehicle crashed into the side of a house after being struck by another vehicle that ran a stop sign Friday afternoon in Hicksville.

In a release from the Hicksville Police Department, dispatchers received calls about a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of S. Main Street and Edgerton Street in downtown Defiance.

The preliminary investigation revealed that one of the vehicles was traveling east on Edgerton Street when it failed to stop at a stop sign and struck another southbound vehicle on Main Street.

The vehicle traveling on Main Street then crossed a curb and struck a house. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage, as did the house.

No one was inside the house at the time of the accident.

Three individuals, the driver and passenger of one car and the driver of another, were transported to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

The accident is still under investigation.
