McGregor vs. Chandler UFC 303 fight CANCELED due to injury

The highly anticipated return of Conor McGregorscheduled for June 29 at UFC 303 against Michael Chandlerhas been cancelled.

The 35 year old man Irish fighter was scheduled to compete for the first time since injuring his leg in a fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

However, UFC president Dana White announced on X that the welterweight fight in Las Vegas was canceled due to an injury suffered by McGregor.

This is the first time that the former two-weight world champion has withdraw from a UFC fight due to injury.

Plus, the co-main event featuring American light heavyweights Jamahal Hill and New Zealand Carlos Ulberg was also canceled due to Hill’s knee injury.

Given these cancellations, White revealed two new headline fights. Brazilian light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will defend his title against Jiri Prochazka from the Czech Republic in the new main event.
