DENTON, Texas– Enters second season as American Athletic Conference member, UNT volleyball and head coach Kristee Porter published its 2024 calendar on Friday.

The Mean Green are set for an 11-game home schedule, including the UNT Invitational against NCAA Tournament participant Colorado, Rutgers and Miami, Aug. 30-Sept. 30. 1. In total, North Texas will play 27 games, including nine against opponents that finished in the RPI top 100 last season.

The season opens with the UNT Invitational on Aug. 30 against Colorado before hosting Rutgers (Aug. 31) and Miami (Sept. 1) to end the weekend.

Before beginning conference play, the Mean Green will travel to Maryland (September 6-8), UNLV (September 13-14) and Florida (September 20-21) for non-league action.

UNT opens its American Athletic Conference slate at UTSA on September 27 before returning home for a home championship clash against Tulane on September 29.

After a three-game road trip to Charlotte (Oct. 4), East Carolina (Oct. 6) and Rice (Oct. 11), North Texas will host four straight championship opponents, starting with UTSA on October 13 and culminating in 2023. AAC Eastern Division wins South Florida on October 25.

The regular season concludes with three of four home games, including Florida Atlantic (Nov. 8), Wichita State (Nov. 15), and the final game of the year against Rice (Nov. 17).

The American Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament will be held Nov. 22-24 on the campus of Wichita State University. The conference championship tournament will mark the third in league history and the first since the 2020-21 season.

Last year, UNT finished with a 17-16 record to cap its seventh straight season with a winning percentage at or above .500. Porter became the third coach in program history to open her career at UNT with back-to-back winning seasons and the first since 2014.

The Mean Green recorded 11 conference wins, which is the highest total in starts in program history and the first double-digit total in those years.

Porter returns 10 players from last season’s roster, including a 2022 second-team all-conference player Aryn Johnson and senior middle blocker Truli Direct debit. Johnson finished with 339.5 points and 294 kills while Levy recorded The American’s second-highest block total with 133 saves.
