“I couldn’t tell many people about my new job, but I told my mother and she said, ‘You have to do it, it will be good for you,'” he said. declared.

“She’s been really behind me and the whole family has been. They’re fully supportive and don’t treat me any differently when I come home.”

“It went well. I’m two months in, ask me again in two years. It’s usually Monday morning that I find the most difficult,” he added.

“I used to love having a drink on Sundays, just in the afternoon. I must have hit my head and now I go swimming instead.”

Jordan also spoke about not being able to say goodbye to listeners, but insisted there was no bad blood between him and the BBC.

“It was all a bit of a blur and I would have loved to say goodbye on air, but behind the scenes there’s a lot going on,” he said.

“And I understand, I understand why they did it, they had to do it, I really have no hard feelings. I have so many friends there.”

Jordan was replaced by Made in Chelseais Jamie Laing, following a stint on Radio 1 when he covered Mollie King’s maternity leave.

At the time, the decision was criticized by some listeners. In response to the backlash, Jamie insisted he wasn’t just “a posh idiot”.

“I’ve been trying to get this job for eight years, constantly working, constantly asking to do small slots,” he said.

“No one gets a job here because their mother or father helped them find it. You have to earn your colors.

“I guess what people see now is that maybe I’m not just a chic idiot.”
