Firefighters stop fire at Pines Apartments

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Shreveport Fire Department received a report of an apartment fire in the 8000 block of Line Avenue in The Pines Apartments. Firefighters arrived on scene to reports of heavy smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story residential building.

After confirming that there were no occupants inside the building, the incident commander ordered an exterior defensive attack against the flames using a ladder truck.

It took the efforts of thirty-six (36) firefighters operating fifteen (15) units to bring the fire under control. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

No citizens were injured.
