Tiger Woods Added Retirement Complication to Consider After Hand Forced

Injuries and his recovery from a horrific car crash in 2021 have limited Tiger Woods’ starts in recent years and the American hero made some telling remarks at Pinehurst.

Tiger Woods has admitted his appearance at the 2024 US Open “could” prove to be the last of his illustrious career – but it has already been hinted that business commitments are delaying his retirement.

The American hero last won a major tournament in 2019 at the Masters, but struggled to find his magic touch after his car accident in February 2021. Since then, the 48-year-old has been plagued by injuries and has only made 10 competitive starts during a stop-start period over the past three years.

His latest outing was at Pinehurst this week, where he missed the cut on Friday, after starting things off with a four-over-par 74 in the opening round in North Carolina. However, the 15-time major winner finished seven times for the tournament after his second-round performance caused him to miss the cut by two.

Reflecting on his performance at the US Open, Woods admitted: “It’s one of those things where to win a golf tournament you have to make the cut. I can’t win the tournament from where I’m at, so it’s definitely frustrating. I thought I played well enough to be in contention It just didn’t work out for my last Open Championship or US Open, I don’t know what it won’t be. .”

It appears, however, that retirement may not be an option for the veteran, with previous comments from an insider suggesting his business interests are preventing him from doing so. A source told the Daily Mail in February: “If Tiger could retire, he would. His body is taking a beating but, for his brand, he still has to keep up appearances and take his chances. After his accident car, he I thought that was it.

“There was almost an amputation involved, so to be back is kind of a miracle. Now, with this recent illness that made him withdraw from the last tournament, it’s unfortunate, but he will be back because he has to support his new brand Sun Day Red and everything else in his world He will come back even though he would like nothing more than to retire.
