Jodie Turner-Smith breaks silence on ex Joshua Jackson’s romance with Lupita Nyong’o

Jodie Turner-Smith has broken her silence on ex-husband Joshua Jackson’s budding romance with Lupita Nyong’o.

“It’s good for them,” she told the Cut in an interview published June 14. “We need happiness to co-parent peacefully.”

The ‘Queen & Slim’ actress, who shares daughter Juno, 4, with Jackson, said she hopes she and the actor can get along like another former A-list couple – Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow.

“I’m trying to get us to the level of Gwyneth and Chris Martin,” she joked.

“I just have to do everything I can to make sure Juno wins,” Turner-Smith, 37, added, “and to peacefully co-parent with someone I loved very, very much.”

As for the “Dawson’s Creek” alum and Nyong’o, the mother of one said, “I really hope they are happy and that it benefits our family.” »

Turner-Smith filed for divorce from Jackson, 46, in October 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of the separation.

A source told Us Weekly at the time that the father of one didn’t think the couple’s marital problems were serious enough to warrant a divorce.

“Joshua was clearly blindsided by Jodie’s decision to divorce,” the source said.

“They had their problems, as many couples do – especially two very busy actors who are also juggling a child. Joshua obviously didn’t realize it was so bad, that Jodie was so unhappy.

Nearly three weeks later, Jackson was spotted at a concert with Nyong’o.

A source told TMZ that there was nothing romantic between the two and that they were there with a group of friends.

However, last December, the “Mighty Ducks” actor and the “Black Panther” actress, 41, confirmed their romance by holding hands during a walk in Joshua Tree, California.

Nyong’o and Jackson were later spotted packing on the PDA while celebrating his birthday in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in March.

According to the photos, the couple held hands as they frolicked on the white sand and even embraced to share a kiss while the “Us” star wrapped her arms around Jackson’s neck and head .

Meanwhile, Turner-Smith, who married Jackson in 2019, has not been romantically involved with anyone.
