Shock property tax increase hits homeowners and vacation homes

NSW homeowners, holiday homes and businesses will be hit by a $1.5 billion increase in property taxes, which the property industry warns could cost homeowners thousands of dollars a year and be passed on to tenants.

NSW becomes the third state Labor government to target multiple landowners with higher taxes, following a bigger land tax increase in Victoria and an attempted tax increase in Queensland which was abandoned.
