MP Stalin reiterates his demand to “stop NEET” |  News from India

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Stalin reiterated his party DMK’s demand to end NEET, highlighting complaints of alleged irregularities in this year’s medical entrance exam.

Banning NEET has been one of the main demands of the DMK and an election promise. A few days ago, Stalin had shared on social media the report of a committee, Justice AK Rajan’s committee, constituted by his government to expose the alleged defects of NEET.

According to Stalin, the ongoing controversies surrounding NEET highlight its “fundamentally unfair nature”. “In a society where education has been denied for thousands of years, we should provide more opportunities for advancement to the downtrodden. On the contrary, NEET hinders the opportunities of these students,” the CM wrote.

“NEET, an exam disguised as a measure of merit, has repeatedly been revealed as a pervasive scam affecting all levels of society. The Union Government must stop championing this anti-student, anti-justice NEET system social and anti-poor,” wrote Stalin.

Stalin’s sister and DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi echoed the demand for a ban on NEET and called for a national inquiry into the recent irregularities.
