Canceled! Sierra Nevada World Music Festival 2024

2024 looks to be a very bad year for reggae festivals… after the recent cancellations of International Reggae Jam Festival (Jamaica), Chillville (Netherlands) and the well-known cancellations of Reggae-Sundance (Netherlands) and OverJam Festival (Slovenia) in 2024, it was announced today that the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival will not take place this year either. Here is the official press release:

CANCELLATION NOTICE
With a very heavy heart, SNWMF BNVL LLC must announce the cancellation of Sierra Nevada World Music Festival 2024June 21-23, at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville, California.

Last year, the SNWMF The team magnificently and successfully revitalized the festival after a 5-year hiatus. We have planned and worked diligently to present another magical weekend this year. This has become increasingly difficult due to extreme financial challenges.

We tirelessly explored and exhausted all options. We cannot continue knowing that we are unable to deliver the usual high quality event you deserve.

Please give us some time to sort this out.

We cannot apologize enough for this turn of events and for the late notice. We have worked very hard to avoid a cancellation, but we must face harsh economic realities. SNWMF cannot express enough our gratitude and love to everyone who supported SNWMF over the last 30 years.
