“Obviously Roland Garros has been a fantastic two weeks for me, a dream come true to lift the trophy, but for now my mind has to be there, on the grass.

“To be ready as soon as possible to play good tennis here at Queen’s and obviously to prepare myself for Wimbledon.

“At the moment I am focusing on the grass court season, the two tournaments and after that I will think about being ready on clay again and playing my best tennis at the Olympics.”

The Spaniard has been mulling the prospect of teaming up with Nadal at Roland Garros in the Olympic tennis tournament, which runs from July 27 to August 4.

Alcaraz added: “I really feel very happy to play doubles at the Olympics and with an idol like Rafa.

“I mean, I didn’t expect to play doubles at the Olympics with Rafa. It’s a unique moment for me but of course I’m very happy about it. Let’s see how it goes but it’s going to be a time to.

“Honestly, I think he’s going to teach me how to handle everything. I’m the kid who needs to grow as a player, to grow as a person too.

“Of course, it will be my first Olympic Games. Everything is new for me, so I hope to learn a lot from him.

“It will obviously be a dream if I get a medal with him.”

Alcaraz, who arrived in London on Saturday, begins his campaign at the Queen’s Club on Tuesday against Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo and could face local favorite Jack Draper in the round of 16.
