Storms in Northeast Ohio – storm damage in Kent, Massillon and Ravenna

(WJW) – The storms that rolled through part of Northeast Ohio on Monday were small but mighty!

On Monday around 1:30 p.m., FOX 8 meteorologist Scott Sabol said “small but incredibly powerful and slow-moving thunderstorms” had developed in the southern half of the FOX 8 viewing area. He called for extremely heavy rain with wind gusts exceeding 50 to 60 miles per hour.

The following : a lot of damages!

A photo by Gene Hand in Ravenna shows a large trampoline that was thrown into overhead power lines – and left dangling! The photo was taken near Cleveland and Highland Roads.

Other photos, taken in Massillon and Kent, show an uprooted tree and numerous large fallen branches, some blocking roads and driveways.

You’ll want to stay on top of the weather this week, as FOX 8’s forecast calls for dangerously hot temperatures and the possibility of more isolated storms.
