Dallas Goedert has been a premier tight end for several seasons in Philadelphia. Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Mark Andrews have been the only guys clearly ahead of him over the last two or three years. Goedert slipped a bit last year, it was his worst season since Ertz was traded to open up the starting tight end roster for him. He had a career high in receptions, but a career low in yards per catch and touchdowns, while finishing the year by giving his starting QB the bird in a playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Whether it’s age, poor play calling, or poor QB play, Goedert is no longer the same type of playmaker at the position he once played, so the Eagles must fall from first place until he shows he can match what Ferguson was. Dallas in 2023.

CJ Uzomah had a career year in 2021 with Joe Burrow throwing the rock at him for the Cincinnati Bengals, but fell off a cliff the last two seasons with the New York Jets. Even in his breakout year, he didn’t reach 500 yards. Entering his 10th year, he’s unlikely to make much of an impact as a backup in Philadelphia. The team would likely improve if a younger player was able to develop and add some dynamism to the tight end room.
