ILLINOIS — As we enter a new week, Patch has rounded up the stories you may have missed this weekend.

Two people were shot near a suburban bar early on Father’s Day, while police say the shooter involved in an unrelated killing was captured over the weekend.

Meanwhile, police and the Coast Guard searched for a woman missing after her boat capsized on Lake Michigan; while her companion was able to swim to shore, she was not found until hours later.

Active shooter: false alarm at Home Depot store: police

“This is a pattern known as ‘Swatting,’ in which an individual reports a serious incident that results in an emergency police response,” authorities said. It happened at a suburban Home Depot store Sunday morning.

Rescuers recover missing woman after sailboat capsizes

Two women in their fifties reportedly set sail on Sunday aboard a 12-foot sailboat, which capsized at dusk. One of the women managed to swim the two to three miles to shore around 2 a.m. Monday and inform authorities of the disappearance of her companion, who was found in the water around 7 a.m.

Killer captured weeks after shooting: police

Police say he fired shots into the living room of a home, killing one man and wounding two others. He was arrested on Saturday after police raided his home.

Dog dies, driver injured when car hits tree: police

Police said the Kia left the road and struck a tree shortly before 4 a.m. The driver was trapped in the vehicle with “serious injuries,” and a dog that was in the car was taken to an emergency veterinarian, where police said it died.

A man and woman were shot outside the salon around 4:30 a.m. on Father’s Day, police said.
