Kellyanne Conway coined the term “alternative facts” more than seven years ago now — and yet she’s still a guest on cable news shows spreading lies and conspiracy theories. Most recently, it was about the size of the crowd during former President Donald Trump’s visit to a historically black church in Detroit, a fact that was easily disproven with a simple Google search.

His reappearance in the spotlight this weekend sparked anger The new abnormal co-hosts Andy Levy And Danielle Moodie greatly — although they acknowledged that the former Trump aide’s strategy appears to be entirely intentional.

“They know that we, or any media outlet that tries to expose their lies and respond to their lies with facts, are literally going to be exhausted at the end of a day’s work, let alone eight years,” Moodie said.

“Eight years they have constantly looked into the cameras and lied about very big and very small things, and often the media chooses to ignore the small things,” she added. “Maybe they’re going after the big things.” But they keep getting invited back, because “on both sides.”

SO, Stasha Rhodesthe executive director of United for Democracy, joins the program to discuss a number of recent Supreme Court decisions and efforts to counter a well-funded far-right influence campaign on the panel.

“We know that the right has invested money, time and energy over the last 40 years to take over our federal courts,” Rhodes said. “And a key part of that has been them using and presenting the Supreme Court as a center of power for issues that matter to their base.” We therefore hope to be able to do this also in the coming years.
