‘People are shocked to see visuals of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Rushikonda Palace’: TDP

TDP spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram on Tuesday said people were shocked to see visuals of former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Rushikonda Palace costing Rs 500 crore.
Speaking to ANI, Pattabhi said, “People are in shock after watching the visuals inside Rushikonda Palace. People couldn’t believe that Jagan Reddy had spent Rs 500 crore to create his own luxury. Look at the bathtubs, which cost more than Rs 40 lakh, the dressers cost more than Rs 10-12 lakh… The kind of luxurious furniture that is placed inside… People are in shock after looking at these visuals.
The TDP spokesperson further said that the size of the toilet in Rushikonda Palace is three to four times larger than that of a poor man’s house. “The houses for BPL families built by the government, at the initiative of Jagan Reddy, are much smaller than the toilets in Rushikonda.” » said Pattabhi.
Questioning the former chief minister about the lavish spending, Pattabhi said, “So Jagan Reddy, you have to answer about this lavish spending. All this work of creating a luxurious interior was entrusted to a woman named Supriya Reddy, who happens to be the wife of his close confidant, an IT consultant, Devreddy Srinath Reddy.
He added, “Jagan Reddy is giving contracts to his own people and spending huge sums of money at a time when the state government is heavily in debt. »
The TDP spokesperson further said that every week the government has to approach the RBI for loans. “In such kind of scenario, how can you spend Rs 500 crore on your palace? You have not spent money on projects like Amravati… These are the projects that the people need. Instead of spending money on these projects, you wasted money on your own palace,” Pattabhi said.
Pattabhi also said that an investigation would be launched into the matter. “This is a criminal waste of public money and a thorough investigation will be launched into this and those behind this lavish spending of public money… will face serious consequences …”

Meanwhile, YSRCP spokesperson Ravi Chandra Reddy claimed that the building is constructed in true spirit and would be used for government purposes.

Speaking to ANI, Reddy said, “We have constructed this building (Rushikonda Palace) in the true spirit of governing from Vizag and that the buildings should be used for government purposes only. These buildings belong to the Andhra Pradesh government and not Jagan Mohan Reddy or YSRCP. These buildings are built with beautiful architecture for the Andhra Pradesh government so that they can be used when the president or prime minister comes as good buildings are not available in Vizag.
Targeting the TDP for playing politics, the YSRCP spokesperson said, “You are playing politics now. It is high time to convey to the people what you promised in your manifesto. But despite that, you are playing politics… You are distracting people.” (ANI)
