Free SIM cards offered to low-income households

People who struggle to get online are being offered free SIM cards thanks to a partnership with Dorset Council.

The council has teamed up with the Good Things Foundation, a digital inclusion charity, and is offering free SIM cards for up to six months.

A Dorset Council spokesperson said: “Are you struggling to afford to be online or use a smartphone? So help is available.

“We have partnered with the Good Things Foundation to provide free SIM cards for 6 months.

“These SIM cards offer up to 20GB of data per month to people who cannot afford data and have limited or no access to the internet.”

To be eligible for the scheme, people must be aged 18 or over and from a low-income household in the Dorset Council area.
