Kandi Burruss explains why the show starring Marlo Hampton was canceled

In addition to sharing screen time on The Real Housewives of AtlantaKandi Burruss and Marlo Hampton were all set to collaborate on a new reality series called Hautelanta. Burruss was set to produce the series while Hampton would star alongside social media personality Funky Dineva and others.

The show has since been canceled, with Burruss explaining on Sirius XM The Jenny McCarthy Show that the network attached to the series is “fed up” with the talent being “difficult,” leading them to pull the plug.

“We actually had a show that I was producing and the series ended up getting dropped right when we were about to start filming,” Burruss confirmed. “I don’t want to blame anyone but basically the talent was a bit difficult. In fact, they hadn’t gotten things done on time. The network got fed up and moved on.

She continued: “It really sucked because it was something we had been working on for a few years. I hadn’t even told anyone… The funny thing is, people didn’t really know that Marlo and I were great friends or anything like that. It’s not like we were great friends, it’s just the fact that I thought she was cool and it was for 1 or 2 years after her and Nene had a falling out, she wasn’t really into her. ‘agreement. Housewives. So she came to Todd and I and said, “I really want to do TV again,” and so at that point we started trying to develop something. We presented it to a few networks. Someone was interested and we went ahead and developed it.

While Burruss never blamed Hampton by name for the show’s demise, Funky Dineva was less subtle when asked about its cancellation. According to The Jasmine Brand, he blames the fashionista for the series’ untimely death.

“She ruined our show that we had on WeTV!” So now she has to be over there with the housewives and Kenya isn’t there anymore and there aren’t too many people fucking with her anymore. She had to make sure she had people she could film with other than Nene and Cynthia – because you know Nene drops her and picks her up like a hot potato and Cynthia goes both ways depending on the weather and of what time it is.
