8 suspects arrested and gun recovered after traffic stop in Pasadena – Pasadena Now

Eight suspects, including six juveniles, were arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop and foot pursuit in Pasadena that led to the recovery of a firearm, police said.

Members of the department’s street crimes unit were providing extra service in the 200 block of Pepper Street due to recent vandalism and gang graffiti, according to Pasadena Police Lt. Matt Campeau.

Several officers conducted follow-up investigations, which took them to the area of ​​Washington Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue, where they conducted a traffic stop, Campeau said.

The vehicle stopped in the 1300 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue, and two occupants ran from the vehicle. The officers pursued him on foot, Campeau said.

Both suspects were taken into custody without further incident.

A firearm was dropped during the pursuit and later recovered by officers, according to Campeau.

The adult suspects were identified as Joshua Barajas, 18, and Adrian Acevedo, 23, Campeau said.

According to Campeau, all eight suspects were arrested on felony charges, although the six juveniles, whose names were not released, were later released to their parents or guardians.
