I was offered TEN peerages and a knighthood from Boris’s ‘corrupt’ allies to stand down in 2019, claims Nigel Farage

NIGEL Farage says Boris Johnson’s allies offered him TEN peerages and a knighthood so his party could stand down at the 2019 election.

The Brexit leader – who declined the offer – said it was “bribes – corruption at the most extraordinary level”.

His explosive statement is likely to spark a furious row over the “seat of honor”.

Mr Farage also said the Conservative Party was “doomed” and that right-wingers like Suella Braverman would eventually join his UK Reform party.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Nigel finally revealed explosive details of the deal he says Team Boris offered in exchange for not running against the Tories.

He said: “What I was offered was so immoral that it wasn’t true. »

Asked what he was being offered, Mr Farage added: “Ten peerages for the party, a knighthood for me.

“I would not accept a peerage because I said I would not accept a peerage under any circumstances.

“It was corruption. This was corruption on the most extraordinary level.

“And those who knew me at the time this offer was made said they had never heard me scream so loud. I was so angry at the total corruption.

He said Mr Johnson did not make the offer directly – but those close to him did.

“Boris is too smart for that. I mean, there’s no fingerprints on it. But made by people absolutely close to home.

“This is the most corrupt thing I have ever seen in British politics.

“I didn’t accept it.”

Mr Farage eventually ordered that the Brexit Party would not run against the Conservatives in 300 seats.

He said he made the decision not for a gong or a peerage, but because he feared the Remainers would end up winning seats and thwarting Brexit unless he gave the Conservatives a clear victory.

Boris has already dismissed claims he offered peers to the Brexit party as “nonsense”.

In a hard-hitting interview, Mr Farage also said up to 50 Conservative MPs could resign and join him in Reform UK.

“There is a feeling that at some point we will have to belong to the same party,” he said.

Citing Suella Braverman and Jacob Rees-Mogg, he added: “The center of gravity of the Tory party high command is so far from me that it’s not true. So far from Suella, it’s not true. So far from Jacob, that’s not true.

“So I’m looking to reshape the future of British politics.”

A spokesperson for Boris recalled his previous denial.
