Elden Ring developer may consider ‘full cooperation’ for future games

Ancient Ring Developer FromSoftware may consider “total cooperative” games in the future, according to the studio’s president.

FromSoftware is renowned for creating successful single-player titles, particularly thanks to its Souls games, like Ancient Ring, Dark souls And Transmitted by blood.

There are cooperative aspects to some of these games, but that’s not their main focus at all.

Multiplayer games are some of the most popular on the market because they allow players to play and interact with friends; This isn’t to say that single-player games aren’t successful, as shown Ancient Ring For example.

There is a popular mod for Ancient Ring called Seamless Co-op which allows players to “play with friends throughout the game without any restrictions”.

In an interview with PC Gamer, FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki said that while this aspect of the game was changed by his community, he wasn’t against it and that it gave him food for thought for the future.

“It’s certainly not something that we actively oppose or want to downplay, because we want to experience the whole game together,” he said.

“As far as where we were with Ancient Ringit was just a matter of wanting a more casual, casual style: come on, beat a boss, give up.

“It doesn’t put any technical restrictions on the player, it just allows them to concentrate and move on, so to speak.

“That doesn’t mean we won’t consider…from start to finish, full cooperation – it doesn’t mean we won’t consider such ideas with our future games.”

Could there be a Souls game with “full co-op” in the future? Let’s wait and see.

Miyazaki once said Ancient Ring still isn’t the “ideal fantasy RPG” it aspires to be.

The only expansion of the game, Shadow of the Erdtreereleases on June 21 – although some spoilers have already been leaked online by those with early access, With FromSoftware warning players.

A number of conditions must be met before players can access the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC – one of them involves beating an optional boss called Mohg, Lord of Blood; Check out our guide on how to beat the boss if you’re stuck.
