Get Ready to Pay, Simsbury Tax Bills Are Coming Out

City officials said this week that tax and sewer bills will be sent out June 28.

SIMSBURY, CT — More than a month after the city approved municipal/school budgets for 2024-2025, now is the time to pay them.

Simsbury officials said Tuesday that tax and sewer bills will be released next week, and first mailed Friday, June 28.

Officials said they will be available online for viewing/payment on Monday, July 1.

Tax bills are due July 1st and the last day to pay to avoid penalties/interest is August 1st.

Sewer usage bills become due July 1 and only have a 30-day billing period with a July 30 due date.

Nearly 11% of registered Simsbury voters opened their wallets May 10 during the city’s budget vote, agreeing to spending of about $114 million for 2024-25.

And by saying “yes” to all budget questions in the annual referendum, Simsbury voters passed city and school spending plans that are expected to increase the city’s tax rate by nearly 5 percent.

According to city officials, the combined budget proposal would increase the mill rate from 30.82 to 32.26.

Officials say that would result in a tax bill of $9,112 for the median home assessment — a tax bill of $408 more than a year ago, or a tax hike of 4.68 %.
