Ronald McDonald House Unveils 72-Room Property Near Forest Park

ST. LOUIS – The Ronald McDonald House in St. Louis yesterday opened its newest establishment, Grove House, located in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood.

The new housing campus on Choteau Avenue includes 72 rooms, which will soon accommodate 92 families each night, according to the Ronald McDonald House. This new facility, next to their West County House, provides accommodations for families who have traveled to St. Louis to seek medical treatment for seriously ill or injured children.

“This charity allows us to bring our families together even when they are healthy to do something good for families who need to be close when they are not healthy,” Bridget said Hoy Breadsley, president of Ronald McDonald St. Louis.

In 2019, the charity had to turn families away 3,044 times, reinforcing their need to expand its services. The expansion will allow the charity to serve 40 percent more families each year, according to the Ronald McDonald House of St. Louis.

“This is the most incredible organization in the world,” said Dan Harbaugh, president and CEO of the Ronald McDonald House. “The acts of kindness and generosity of the donors, the volunteers who give so much of their time and help make this place a home away from home. »

Featuring four floors, Grove House also includes a family kitchen, children’s playroom, commercial kitchen and first floor immunocompromised lounge for long-term stay families.

The other three floors include spaces such as a wellness center lounge, yoga room, St. Louis Blues game room, terrace and hospitality lounge.
