METALLICA Shares Professional Video for ‘King Nothing’ From Helsinki Stop of ‘M72’ Tour

Professionally filmed video of METALLIC perform the song “King nothing” on June 7 at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, Finland, during the 2024 stage of the group. “M72” the tour can be seen below.

In support of METALLICthe latest album of, “72 seasons”the band performed two concerts without rehearsal in each city – first in Europe, then in North America and now in Europe again – as part of the “M72” tour. Every concert sees METALLIC performing on a massive ring-shaped stage, with the Snake Pit in the center and four drum sets equally spaced around the circular stage for the drummer Lars Ulrich can get closer to the audience at different times during the show.

After the two sold-out concerts in Helsinki on June 7 and 9, METALLIC donated 40,000 euros each to Federation of Homes and Shelters for Mothers and Children, a women’s refuge and domestic violence charity; And Hope, a charity that helps low-income families. A sponsor, Ivecodoubled these donations, bringing the total donations to 160,000 euros, with each association receiving 80,000 euros. Hope said in a press release that this money will help hundreds of low-income children pursue their chosen hobbies.

METALLIC leader James Hetfield spoke about his state of mind ahead of the 2024 stage of “M72”narrative “The Metallica Report”: “What I’m getting into is unknown. I know how big the scene is. I know we have breaks here and there. I know what we’re getting into. When we started with this, with the ‘M72’ on stage, during the circle in the stadium, between two installation cones, walking around thinking: “Oh, this is how big the stage is going to be”. “Oh it’s cool.” “That will be great.” “It’s too skinny,” and this and that. And then, between then and when it’s actually built, where it’s a little too late, “Oh shit, this thing is so big.” The level of anxiety was off the charts at the start of the ‘M72’ tour. Like, how are we going to cover this step? And of course my ego was like, “Well, the other guys don’t have to sing.” They don’t have to run there. They don’t have to do all of this. And no one knows my misfortunes and all my worries. But as soon as I share them with the other guys, they’re like, “Yeah, but I got this and I got that.” It’s like, “Oh, okay. All right. I want mine back. It’s good.’ It is therefore a known one. We know what we’re up against and we know what shape we need to be in. And it’s just fun. Now it’s just fun. We rehearsed this scene. It is well trodden and it performed wonderfully. And so we can just get back to it and do what we do best. »

He was asked if there had been any changes in the “M72” on stage since the 2023 shows, Hetfield said: “There have been a few things that have changed here and there – extra microphones, whatever monitors we need. And that’s typical on any stage, though. Lighting tends to show things you don’t see before: “Yeah. , we need to eliminate that or whatever, just things to make it better. Like everything we do, you want to improve it. So that was the first two months of the first tour with the band. ‘M72’ scene.”

Regarding how he prepares for a METALLIC tour, especially when it comes to performing around 32 songs on each leg of the current tour “M72” hiking, Hetfield said: “Obviously, before we went on tour, sitting there trying to remember the myriad of pretty awesome songs that we have, and then just believing that once we get together, it’s like, ‘Oh , Yeah.’ It’s muscle memory. But yeah, over the last month, I will say the normal thing happens when I start to doubt myself and think, “Whoa, we can’t do this.” ‘ and blah, blah, blah, all that bullshit everyone says to themselves before launching into something they care about and is important, so having nightmares like ‘I’m the only one who cares about this what we do here.’ .Where is everyone?’ I arrive at the concert. Everyone is laughing or there are 200 people backstage and where are my things? And then typical things like the neck of the guitar is made of rubber. There’s only two strings on it? And where’s my roadie? And the guitar cord won’t let me get to the mic. You know, stupid things like that have to happen, and I’m not freaking out about it. fast enough.”

After Munich and Milan, METALLIC continued its tour throughout Europe during the first part of the summer, with stops in Spain, Denmark, Norway, France and Poland, among others. Another round of North American dates begins August 2 in Foxborough, Massachusetts, with stops in Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle and Edmonton. METALLIC will close out the 2024 touring season with four shows in Mexico City in late September.

According to Billboard, METALLICThe production travels in 87 trucks – 45 for the band and setup, plus two bands of 21 each for the steel stage and towers. The group’s team numbers 130 people, plus 40 metalworkers, local employees and truck drivers.
