Sir Jim Ratcliffe slams UEFA for ‘unfair’ collapse of Man Utd’s Jean-Clair Todibo transfer from Nice

SIR JIM RATCLIFFE has criticized UEFA following the failure of Jean-Clair Todibo’s proposed transfer from Nice.

Manchester United are long-time admirers of the central defender.

But they won’t be allowed to sign him due to Ratcliffe’s ownership in Nice.

UEFA rules prohibit players from making transfers between clubs playing in the same competition and sharing the same owners – Ineos has an interest in Good and United.

Ratcliffe is not a fan of the decision as he considers it unfair to Todibo, although he refused to name the Frenchman.

The United chief told Bloomberg: “They said we can sell him to another Premiership club, but we can’t sell him to Manchester United.

“But it’s not fair to the player and I don’t see the point.”

Todibo, 24, had been in talks for several months over a move to United.

But he could still move to the Premier League with Aston Villa a potential destination.

The Red Devils will have to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements and they have several targets in mind.
