Free evening pool entry offered amid Chillicothe heatwave

CHILLLICOTHE, Ohio — With scorching temperatures expected, Chillicothe Parks and Recreation Director Bill Bonner announced a special measure to relieve the heat.

From Thursday, June 20 through Sunday, June 23, 2024, the Donald M. Smith Memorial Pool at Yoctangee Park will offer free admission during the cooler hours of the evening, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.

Standard pool hours will be from noon to 7 p.m., with regular entry fees in effect from noon to 5 p.m. each day. This initiative aims to encourage residents to beat the heat safely and enjoy the facilities at more comfortable times of the day.
